Tumor does my cat have?

It could be a tumor or a cyst. Your vet should’ve given you more information. Try reading the paper you get after vet visits or just call your vet and ask.

You will have to wait for the biopsy results-he should have given you an idea of what he thought as vets usually have a good idea from how the tumour looks. You could phone and ask what his opinion was?

only thing you can do is wait for the biopsy to come back hopefully negitive.

I am so sorry to hear that. My 9 years old calico, had a mass in her tummy too. It was a mast cell tumor. The vet removed two sections of lymph node and adjacent tissues and said it was effaced by neoplastic round cells containing moderate amounts of finely granular anaphophlic cytoplasm.(what that means is it was really grainy) Most visceral mast cell tumors are prone to metastasis.(cancer spreading) I would ask the vet what kind of tumor he thinks it was and if he thinks it is cancerous, although the pathology report will tell you exactly. I wish I could be a little more positive but it sounds exactly like what my Casey went through. Her tumor was the size of my fist. If your kitty made it through the surgery, that is wonderful – you just have to wait and see if this is cancerous. I wish you and kitty the best and hope that things turn out okay for you both.

You’ll need to ask your vet if it was malignant or benign. Cancer is an explosive growth of cells–it can be non-invasive, some s are.

I had a nerve end tumor taken off my cat’s rear foot that was the size and color of his main paw pad last year. My vet says she sees that more in dogs than cats.

We also had a cyst (fatty glob) taken off one of the other cat’s sides, which was non-threatening but annoying the elbow action.

So check with your vet, there are all sorts of things it could be and a lot of things it would not be.

All of a sudden, we noticed a large (tennis ball-size) growth on my 10 year-old cat’s haunch. We took her to the vet and he said some of it felt soft, some hard, and some jagged. He removed it and said it was into the bone and muscle. He did not mention the cancer word, but biopsied it and sent the specimen out for testing. Is this a cancerous tumor?
